FAQ

Questions answered.

What is the cost of Panama trademark registration?

Government fees are approximately B/.150 per class. Professional fees depend on scope. We provide a full cost breakdown before filing.

How many classes should I register?

We recommend registering in all classes covering your current and foreseeable future products and services. Adding classes later requires new applications.

What happens during the opposition period?

Third parties can oppose the registration within 3 months of publication. We monitor and respond to oppositions. Most registrations proceed without opposition.

Can I use the ® symbol after filing?

No. The ® symbol can only be used after registration. The ™ symbol can be used from the filing date.

Can I lose my registration after it's granted?

Yes. Registrations can be cancelled for non-use (3-year period), if they become generic or if they were obtained fraudulently.
